Celebrate National Tree Day with us at Janis Street Reserve on 28 July. This year, we're excited to partner with Planet Ark to bring you a day full of community spirit, environmental activities, and family fun. There will be a major seedling giveaway sponsored by Men of the Trees, so plant a seedling on the day and take some home for your garden!
National Tree Day is a great chance to get your hands in the soil and learn tips for good planting, learn about the wonder of our native plants and planting at home, help build a city that is beautiful, stays cool and healthy, and supports our wildlife and connect with groups and initiatives to care for the environment all year round.
Join us for:
- A free BBQ
- Kid's environmental activities
- Informative stalls about local wildlife, including ringtail possums and Carnaby's cockatoos
- Subsidised coffee van (bring your own cup for $1 off your coffee!)
Things to know:
- Bring suitable weatherproof clothing - hat, raincoat, long sleeves and pants, closed shoes. Gloves will be provided.
- Insect repellent and sunscreen are recommended
- Event will proceed unless there is an extreme weather event; please check Facebook event page for updates.
Let's come together to make a positive impact on our environment and enjoy a day outdoors with friends and family. See you there!
