Ariana Grande & Cynthia Erivo gave a stunning performance to open the show.

The 97th Academy Awards aired on Monday from LA, hosted by Conan O'Brien. whose opener shone the spotlight on some of the nominees.


Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo opened the show with a stunning medley of songs from Wicked, The Wiz, and The Wizard of Oz


Anora was the big winner on the night – scooping up 5 awards including Best Director and the big one – Best Film, with director Sean Baker accepting the award.


Adrian Brody won his second Oscar for Best Actor for his role in The Brutalist... He also broke a World Record - securing the longest Oscar speech in history - going for 5 minutes and 40 seconds!! 


Demi Moore was tipped to take out Best Actress for The Substance, but the Oscar surprisingly went to first-time nominee Mikey Madison for her debut role in Anora


 Zoe Saldaña won her first Academy Award for best supporting actress in 'Emilia Pérez'.


Keiran Culkin was awarded Best Supporting Actor and used his acceptance speech to ask his wife for 4 children! 


Wicked was nominated for 10 awards - and took home two Oscars - Costume Design and Production Design. 


And Morgan Freeman opened the In Memoriam section, honouring his friend and fellow actor - the late Gene Hackman.
