Community groups and volunteers have been acknowledged for their hard work through the final round of 2018 community grants announced this week.

A total of 40 grants worth $218,513 were handed out to community groups and associations, not-for-profit organisations, local businesses and schools for a range of new and ongoing programs and initiatives.

The funding program includes the Community Association Fund Grants (CAF), the Partnership Fund Grants and the Nikki Wise Memorial Scholarship.

City of Mandurah Mayor Rhys Williams said we received a big increase in applications for this round of funding for an extensive range of initiatives.

“Helping grassroots projects grow and thrive is very important for the long term sustainability of our community.

“We wish all of our funding recipients every success and look forward to hearing about their achievements over the coming 12 months,” Mr Williams said.
