The distinguished sounds of the Perth Symphony Orchestra (PSO) will fill the air at the Village Green in Rockingham on Saturday February 19, 2022.

Symphony on the Green will give patrons the chance to enjoy the Perth Symphony Orchestra for free.

In line with State Government requirements, Symphony on the Green will be a ticketed event and require proof of vaccination to enter.

Mask wearing and social distancing where possible are strongly encouraged.

Gates open at 3pm.

For this year’s show Perth Festival has commissioned a world premiere performance by Dr Richard Walley OAM

This work will be delivered alongside the PSO and will weave Nyoongar and Celtic stories together, with songs and stories of connection to country both near and far.

Family entertainment will begin from 4.30pm with a preshow for children, followed by support acts at 6pm and the full orchestra performance running from 7.10pm – 9pm (with one interval).

Food and drink will be available for purchase at the event.

“Symphony on the Green is one of the most popular events on the City’s Summer Series calendar, and concertgoers can expect to be treated to an evening filled with stunning orchestral music,” City of Rockingham Mayor Deb Hamblin said.

“The City is delighted to be partnering with Perth Festival to present this event, and we are particularly excited to be welcoming Dr Richard Walley OAM, who will entertain attendees with a first of its kind performance on stage.

“Symphony on the Green will have something to suit everyone’s musical tastes, so we encourage visitors to come down to the Village Green to rediscover romance and rediscover Rockingham. There’s a wide range of accommodation, food, drink and eco-based adventures available in Rockingham, and the event is an ideal opportunity for visitors to spend an entire weekend in our City.”

Parking will be available at the Gary Holland Community Centre carpark and behind the Rockingham Museum off Kent Street.

Alternatively, there is ample parking within the vicinity of Village Green.
