The City of Mandurah will this month begin the final stage of upgrades to Peel Street, between Anstruther Road and Sutton Street.
Following interim works on Peel Street, the City successfully negotiated with Water Corporation to relocate utility services, allowing the City to amend the final design to deliver a better streetscape for vehicles and pedestrians.
This final stage will now complete the upgrade project for one of Mandurah’s main entry roads into the city centre.
Once completed, the section of Peel Street will boast enhanced landscaping, verge trees, a shared path, on-street parking, streetlighting, a two-lane two-way road and a central median.
The final stage of upgrades will start this month and is due for completion in mid-2024.
Traffic management arrangements will be in place throughout the works to ensure the safety of road users and workers.
Local residents, businesses and customers will be able to access their properties and business premises during the works.
