WA Police have charged the first person under the new intimate images legislation, which makes it a criminal offence to share intimate images without consent.
A 24-year-old man was in a relationship with the 24-year-old victim and took consensual intimate images of the woman.
When the relationship broke down, the man allegedly created a fake Instagram account in the victim's name and posted seven sexual images of her without her consent.
When the Instagram page was removed, four other Instagram pages were allegedly created in the victim's name, and a total of 10 intimate photos were posted.
The 24-year-old man from Spearwood has been charged with distributing intimate images of another person without their consent.
He is due to appear before the Fremantle Magistrates Family Violence Court on May 20.
