Local job seekers invited to Rockingham Jobs Fair

The annual Rockingham Jobs Fair

Local job seekers are invited to attend the Rockingham Jobs Fair on Wednesday, April 13.

The Rockingham Jobs Fair is hosted by the Rockingham Kwinana Chamber of Commerce, and will take place from 12pm – 5pm at the Gary Holland Community Centre.

This is a free annual event that showcases training and job opportunities to community members of all ages and abilities.

This year the Rockingham Jobs Fair will feature around 40 stallholders that can assist with employment in sectors including defence, building and construction, transport/logistics, health, mining and education.

There will also be a number of organisations providing specialist support to young people, seniors, Aboriginal community members, and jobseekers with a disability among other areas.

Attendees will be able to engage directly with training providers, while there will be several workshops, live demonstrations and prize draws.

Information will be available for people considering an apprenticeship, and there will also be a live jobs board highlighting local employment opportunities.

City of Rockingham Mayor Deb Hamblin said the Rockingham Jobs Fair was a strategic objective for the City to deliver through its Economic Development Strategy 2020 – 2025.

“Local business development is an important part of the City’s Economic Development Strategy, and facilitating employment opportunities for community members through the Rockingham Jobs Fair supports this,” Mayor Hamblin said.

“Importantly, the event also aligns strongly with the City’s strategic aspiration of actively pursuing tourism and economic development.

“Whether you are finishing school, looking to change your career or re-enter the workforce, the Rockingham Jobs Fair will showcase the current employment and training opportunities that are available to you.”

Please note event details are subject to change in line with COVID-19 directions at the time of the event.
