The Shire of Murray has secured over $20 million in funding for the construction of the Peel Business Park.
The $21.75 million investment from the federal Government will be used in the first stage of the Park's construction.
It will be used to build the Park's Agri-Innovation Precinct which will focus on the development of food production and processing technology.
Member for Canning Andrew Hastie has worked closely with the Shire to secure federal support, which will be delivered through the $272.2 million Regional Growth Fund.
The overall project is expected to create 363 jobs during construction and close to 4000 jobs post-construction.
Mr Hastie says the funding has come after several years of combined lobbying with the Shire.
"Over the past several years I have worked closely with Shire of Murray president David Bolt and Shire CEO Dean Unsworth to help make this project a reality," he said.
"Together we lobbied the Government to explain the potential of this project to our region.
"Late last year the Peel Business Park was shortlisted for funding and an invitation was extended to submit a full business case.
"This announcement locks that investment in."
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Infrastructure, Transport and Regional Development Michael McCormack says the Regional Growth Fund supports projects that create regional jobs and support long term economic growth.
"Successful applications for grants under the fund focus on building on existing strengths, re-invigorating industries and tapping into a region's tourism potential," he said.
Funding provided under the fund is part of the federal Government's $3.7 million commitment to regional development programs.
