There's been an outpouring of grief for a local electrician who died while working on a property south of Mandurah.
Dave Outhwaite, 37, could not be revived after it's understood he was electrocuted while working on a power pole at a private property in Nirimba on Friday afternoon.
Mr Outhwaite was an avid polocrosse player, horse lover and keen footballer.
He was also a father to a 16-month-old girl and was due to be married in the coming months.
His fiancé told 9News, Dave was "sunshine in human form" and she was "very broken" following his tragic death.
Western Australia’s Director of Energy Safety Saj Abdoolakhan extended his deepest condolences to the electrician’s loved ones.
“Information and findings so far indicate the electrician was working on a private power pole on the consumer’s property when this tragedy occurred,” Mr Abdoolakhan said.
“It appears that the installation was still energised with live electricity at the time.
“Our investigation is focused on ascertaining what caused the accident to help prevent another similar tragedy in the future.”
