Peel region tradie claims $4M Lotto win

A tradie from the Peel region says he plans to help sick children after claiming a share of last Saturday's Lotto Superdraw.

The ticket holder, who is now $4 million richer, said he decided to purchase the Slikpik 18 from Nextra Forum West Newsagency in Mandurah after winning a small prize in last week’s Powerball jackpot.

“I saw that there was a Mandurah winner on social media in the morning, and joked with my partner all day saying, ‘imagine if that was us’,” he said.

“When I checked my ticket that afternoon and found out that we’d actually won, I was in disbelief.

“Now it’s sunk in a bit, we’re incredibly grateful and can’t believe the possibilities for us with this financial stability.”

When asked if he had any plans for the prize money, the winner said he wants to pay off the mortgage, support family, and donate to help sick children.

The news comes after it was revealed that employees from Fiona Stanley Hospital also won a Division One prize in the weekend’s Superdraw.

The $4 million prize is to be shared with 50 people in the hospital syndicate.

Lotterywest spokesperson Emma Rogers said the winning tickets were two of five Division One winners from across the nation.

“We had a third WA winner in last weekend’s Saturday Lotto Superdraw, however Lotterywest is still waiting to hear from them,” she said.

“Our advice for West Aussies is to check their tickets if they purchased one from The Lucky Charm Noranda, because they could be in possession of the missing $4 million Division One win.

“The good news continues his week, with another WA millionaire created thanks to a Division One prize of $1 million in Wednesday Lotto.”
