A 53-year-old Perth man has been sentenced to seven months in prison after failing to comply with a direction to self-quarantine.

The man arrived at Perth Airport on June 27 on a flight from Brisbane and was issued with a direction to self-quarantine for 14 days at a suitable premise.

The man chose to self-quarantine at his home in Scarborough.

Whilst in quarantine, the man had trades people working at his home.

People were also attending his home to buy items that he had listed for sale.

A complaint was then made to police after the man told one of those people that he was under self-quarantine.

The man pleaded guilty to 15 charges of failing to comply with a direction and was sentenced to seven months imprisonment, with two months to be served immediately and five months suspended.
