An arsonist is on the run after he broke into a Byford restaurant and set it on fire.
It's believed the man forced entry into the Strand Cafe just before midnight on Saturday and used petrol to set it alight.
The owner had only bought the business two months ago.

The fire caused a damage bill of $250,000.
The restaurant will be closed until further notice.
