Police are hunting a man who reportedly pointed a fake gun towards shoppers in Waikiki.
Officers were called to the Waikiki Shopping Village late Sunday afternoon after receiving several reports that a man was pointing a fake firearm in the direction of shoppers outside the complex.
A concerned resident posted details of the incident on a community Facebook page.
"My mum was loading her shopping in the car and turned around to see this man standing there pointing it (the gun) towards her and then started to pull the trigger," the post read.
"He walked off casually when he seen how scared she (was) and he was smiling over it.
"She also mentioned he walked along pointing it towards children and cars."
Police searched the area but could not locate the man.
