Rockingham roadworks program to begin within days

The City of Rockingham's Road Renewal/Resurfacing Program will start from Tuesday October 6.

The program is anticipated to run until the end of March next year and will feature 49 different projects across the City's road network.

Key projects in the program include $470,000 for resurfacing and safety upgrades to Mandurah Road between Kerosene Land and Fifty Road.

$429,000 for road rehabilitation works on Dixon Road between Ennis Avenue and Arkwright Road and a further $429,000 on resurfacing parts of Millar Road.

City of Rockingham Mayor Barry Sammels said the City of Rockingham is responsible for managing more the 1,100km of roads across the community.

"Our annual Road Renewal/Resurfacing Program is carried out to ensure road surfaces are maintained at an appropriate level for ride quality and the safety of all road users," he said.

"A week prior to projects beginning, community members in areas featuring works will be notified of the relevant projects via letter drops and the use of variable message boards. Traffic management will also be implemented where required."
