Families and children aged 12 years and under in the City of Rockingham are encouraged to head outdoors during the school holidays and get involved in the Rockingham Summer Parks Challenge throughout January 2020.

The Rockingham Summer Parks Challenge gives children and their families the chance to explore selected parks across the City, answer checkpoint questions and complete outdoor challenges for the chance to win a prize.

To participate, residents can pick up a Summer Parks Challenge passport from either the City’s Administration Building, Mike Barnett Sports Complex, Safety Bay Library, Warnbro Library or the Mary Davies Library and Community Centre.

City of Rockingham Mayor Barry Sammels said there were a range of great prizes up for grabs including Penguin Island cruise vouchers from Wild Encounters Rockingham.

“The Rockingham Summer Parks Challenge is a fantastic opportunity for children and families to get outdoors and be physically active over the summer holidays,” Mayor Sammels said.

“We are fortunate to have many fantastic parks and playgrounds in our City and the Summer Parks Challenge gives residents even more reasons to get out and visit them.”

The Summer Parks Challenge will run from 1 January 2020 – 31 January 2020.
