The search is continuing today for a 41-year-old man who was bitten by a snake south of Perth.

Nathan Scattini was walking in bushland in the Kelmscott area on Sunday evening when he was bitten.

He called an ambulance about 6.40pm but did not know his location.

Police resources including the police helicopter, horses and officers on foot searched the vicinity of Bob Blackburne Reserve and John Dunn Memorial Park in Seville Grove and Kelmscott on Monday, but could not find him.

Today, police and SES volunteers have expanded their search along both sides of the Tonkin Highway.

Mr Scattini described as fair skinned, about 175cm tall with a medium build and short dark hair. He is wearing a black top, short, sneakers and sunglasses.

Police are concerned for his welfare and ask anyone who sees him or knows of his whereabouts to call 000.
