Police are on the hunt for a man who stabbed a security guard at Lakelands Shopping Centre.
Witnesses told Seven News the security guard tried to stop the man after he tried to leave through a self-serve check-out without paying for some meat around 5pm on Sunday.
The man then swung a big knife, stabbing the guard in the shoulder.
He was taken to Peel Health Campus where he is understood to have suffered non life-threatening injuries.
The offender, who remains on the run, is described as being fair skinned, with a slim build, around 183cm tall with a red or brown beard.
He was wearing a red and grey t-shirt.
