The Shire of Boddington launched its master plans for the proposed Foreshore Civic Precinct.

Residents in the Boddington Shire could soon see an enhanced Hotham River Foreshore following a public meeting.

The plans are designed to enhance the area from the Boddington Lions Weir to the Hotham Bridge and newly opened Visitor Centre and Library.

Residents were excited to talk to the Senior Landscape Architect, Peter Trend from Emerge Associates, who presented the Master plans and answered questions, assisted by the Chief Executive Office for the Shire of Boddington Mr Chris Littlemore.

The plans will create a public recreation space that includes a significant nature play space incorporating native animal themes and plants complementing the natural environment that surrounds Boddington.

A purpose built Skate Park and Multipurpose courts, a pump track, an outdoor exercise space, new shade and BBQ structures and amphitheatre style tiered seating, all linked by pathways will also be built.

The foreshore already offers a space for local residents to relax and exercise but the upgrade will create a destination to attract new visitors to the Shire of Boddington and place a focus a key asset in the community, the Hotham River.

The Master plans will be presented to community groups and key stakeholders during the month of September and it is estimated work may commence on the project in late 2018.
