Artists in the City of Rockingham are running out of time to make a submission in the City’s first ever Maquette and Small Sculpture Exhibition.
Entries close on Friday 16 August 2019 at 4pm.
The Maquette and Small Sculpture Exhibition will be displayed at the Rockingham Arts Centre from 26 October – 3 November 2019 and will celebrate the beauty and intricacy of small scale, three dimensional artworks created with recycled and repurposed materials.
Held in conjunction with the City’s Castaways Sculpture Awards Exhibition, the event will also include a $2,500 Warnbro Centre Maquette and Small Sculpture Award.
The award will be presented to one artist who demonstrates excellence in the creation of a small sculpture and whose work creatively uses recycled components.
City of Rockingham Mayor Barry Sammels encouraged local artists to make a submission before the deadline.
“The up and coming Maquette and Small Sculpture Exhibition at the Rockingham Arts Centre will represent an exciting first for arts and culture in our City,” Mayor Sammels said.
“Submissions are open to emerging and established professional artists from across the state and we want to see as many local artists as possible getting involved.
“With less than a month left before the deadline I urge any interested artists to get involved and make a submission as soon as possible.”
Artists can enter pieces into both the Castaways Sculpture Awards Exhibition and the Maquette and Small Sculpture Exhibition, provided they adhere to the separate terms and conditions.
The Maquette and Small Sculpture Exhibition will run from 9am – 5pm daily at the Rockingham Arts Centre throughout the designated dates.
