The City of Rockingham’s popular Teddy Bears’ Picnic event will return on Wednesday November 17 at Fantasy Park in Waikiki.
The event, which runs from 9am-11.30am, provides families with children under five years of age a fun day out filled with free age-appropriate entertainment.
Activities available include stage performances, face painting, rhyme time, an animal farm and a variety of games.
AUSLAN interpreters will be present on stage and a chill out space (low sensory) will also be available for children and families to use throughout the event.
The space will include sensory resources and equipment to support children and their parents/carers.
On the day attendees will also be able to participate in a birthday celebration for Widi, the Paint Rockingham REaD mascot.
City of Rockingham Mayor Deb Hamblin encouraged community members to pack a picnic and join in the fun at Fantasy Park.
“The Teddy Bears’ Picnic has grown to become one of the City’s most popular events for families with young children. It provides an opportunity for children to learn new skills through play while parents can build connections with local service providers in a casual and positive setting. We are very excited to have Gina Williams and Guy Ghouse perform as well, including songs in Nyoongar language,” Mayor Hamblin said.
“As this is a plastic free event, we would encourage everyone to bring their water bottles, pack a picnic and of course don’t forget your favourite teddy bears.”
