Thousands of visitors flocked to the Rockingham Beach Foreshore on the weekend to celebrate the completion of the recent foreshore upgrade.
The free, family-friendly celebration was held as part of the City’s Summer Series and boasted a packed program of events including street performers, aerial acts, a variety of interactive workshops, mermaids, ‘unicorns’, camels and a silent disco.
A major highlight of the event included a Nyoongar dance, Haka and Corroboree on stage.

City of Rockingham Mayor Barry Sammels thanked the community for their support.
“The Foreshore Celebration was a major spectacle for the City and was the perfect way to present the $15.75 million Rockingham Beach Foreshore Revitalisation to our community,” Mayor Sammels said.
“It was terrific to see so many families enjoying the event and the City thanks all visitors for making it one of the most memorable events we’ve had the privilege of hosting.
“We hope visitors enjoyed the opportunity to Rediscover Rockingham and learn more about why our city is known as the place where the coast comes to life.”
