Works are underway on upgrading a notorious intersection in Warnbro.
Over the years, several serious and fatal crashes have occurred at the Ennis Avenue and Royal Palm Drive intersection.
"Funded by the State Government, this $2 million safety upgrade includes the installation of traffic signals to stop northbound traffic on Ennis Avenue, allowing right turns into and out of Royal Palm Drive to be undertaken more safely," a Main Roads WA spokesperson said.
"The right-turn pocket on Ennis Avenue will be widened and extended to improve traffic flow, and the acceleration lane to Ennis Avenue southbound will be widened to allow for semi-trailer turning movements."
Reduced speeds and lane closures will be in place from now until June.
