White Hill Road in Bouvard is undergoing a major upgrade.
The project, funded by the State Government's Black Spot Program, kicked off on November 23 and is expected to be complete by early 2024.
Key components of the upgrade include re-grading the road and constructing a granular pavement.
The final phase will involve completing the granular works and sealing the road.
A temporary road closure is in place from the intersection of White Hill Road and Quail Road, all the way up to the entrance of Whitehill Beach.
To accommodate users of Whitehill Beach during the festive season, the road will temporarily re-open from December 22, 2023 to January 7, 2024.
A full road closure will begin again from January 8, 2024 , and will be in place until the completion of the project.
"These enhancements not only aim to improve overall road safety but also contribute to the improvement of the community's infrastructure," a City of Mandurah spokesperson said.
"We appreciate the community's understanding and cooperation during this phase of road works."
