Woman arrested after breaching quarantine to visit boyfriend

PIC: File

A 23-year-old woman has been arrested and charged after allegedly breaching self-quarantine to visit her boyfriend.

The woman entered Western Australia from Victoria on February 21 and was issued with a direction to quarantine for 14 days.

When the woman was required to complete a random G2GNow check-in, the system indicated she was not at her self-quarantine location which prompted police to investigate her whereabouts.

Police later found the woman allegedly breached her direction to quarantine on a number of occasions, including to visit her boyfriend.

She has been charged with five counts of failing to comply with a direction and appeared in Perth Magistrates Court on February 27.

She has been remanded in custody and is next due to appear in the Perth Magistrates Court on March 8.
