Revered film, television, and theatre icon – James Earl Jones has passed away at 93.
A pre-med major in college, who also served his country in the Army during the Korean War, James decided to pursue acting, which led to a successful career in the entertainment industry that spanned seven decades!
He was one of the few EGOT winners in history, earning two Emmys, one Grammy, an honorary Oscar, and three Tony Awards. He also received a Lifetime Achievement Award from SAG-AFTRA in 2009 and was a Kennedy Center honoree in 2002.
James’ most memorable roles included Dr Strangelove, Coming to America, Hunt for Red October, and the TV series Roots.
But he is best remembered as the voice of the insidious villain Darth Vader in the Star Wars franchise, and the fatherly Mufasa in the Lion King films.

And a few things you need to know… Sir Ian McKellen has been rumoured to return as Gandalf in the upcoming The Lord of The Rings: Hunt for Gollum movie. The movie will be directed by Lord of the Rings and Hobbit director Peter Jackson and Andy Serkis will reprise his role as Gollum.
