Golden Globe nominations are out with musical thriller Emilia Perez and historical epic The Brutalist leading the list of films nominated.
Emilia Perez, released by Netflix, scored 10 nods, and The Brutalist, from independent distributor A24, earned seven.
They are both up for Best Film along with Conclave, A Complete Unknown, sci-fi epic Dune: Part Two, Nickel Boys, and September 5.
Wicked, the box office smash, scored four nominations, including Best Musical, Cynthia Erivo for Best Actress, and Ariana Grande for Best Supporting Actress.
Vying for best actress along with Erivo, is our own Nicole Kidman for Babygirl, Angelina Jolie in Maria, Tilda Swinton in The Room Next Door, Fernanda Torres in I’m Still Here, and Kate Winslet in Lee.
Up for Best Actor is Adrien Brody in The Brutalist, Timothee Chalamet in A Complete Unknown, Daniel Craig in Queer, Colman Domingo for Sing Sing, Ralph Fiennes in Conclave & Sebastian Stan in The Apprentice.
The Golden Globes kick off the movie awards season and get underway on January 5.
Back to Wicked –The Broadway Musical hits Crown Theatre on December 15th – and to celebrate the final destination of their Australian tour – Wicked Australia is releasing 300 tickets for the official opening night on December 19th for $20!!!
