Los Angeles is still on fire – with nearly 180,000 people evacuated in the Pacific Palisades area, as the two wildfires – one from the east and one from the west - are burning out of control.
According to the LAPD, 5 lives have been lost – there is over $50 billion US dollars worth of damage; which includes thousands of homes and tens of thousands of structures. The iconic Hollywood sign was under threat last night but seems to have survived the path of the wildfire.
Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass says, "historic" wind speeds and extensive droughts created the "perfect storm" with a warning more high winds today could spread the flames even further.
Celebrities Paris Hilton, Jeff Bridges, Many Moore, Billy Crystal, John Goodman, Miles Teller, Eugene Levy, James Woods, Cary Elwes, Adam Brody, and Leighton Meister—as well as songwriter Diane Warren—have all lost their homes to the wildfires.
