John Lithgow is heading to Hogwarts ✨
He has officially signed on to play Dumbledore in the upcoming Harry Potter series.
The 79-year-old confirmed the news in an interview with Screen Rant and said, ‘It was not an easy decision because it’s going to define me for the last chapter of my life, and I’ll be 87 at the wrap party!’
Lithgow is the first actor to be confirmed for the Harry Potter TV cast with rumours that Cillian Murphy has been approached to play Voldemort – and Adam Driver for Professor Snape.
HBO has confirmed filming on the first season begins later this year at the Warner Bros Studios in London.
Sad news with the passing of 39-year-old US actress Michelle Trachtenberg.
According to reports, Trachtenberg had recently undergone a liver transplant and was suffering complications.
Her mother found her unresponsive on Wednesday morning in her New York City apartment.
She was best known for her roles on Gossip Girl and as Buffy’s younger sister, Dawn, in Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and also starred in the film Harriet the Spy.
